Desiccant Dehumidifiers

There are 2 main types of dehumidifiers: compressor dehumidifiers and desiccant dehumidifiers. Compressor dehumidifiers are best in warmer, humid conditions whereas desiccant dehumidifiers are better for rooms that are below 10°c. This makes them a great choice for conservatories, garages, boats, and caravans.

Desiccant dehumidifiers are generally quieter and lighter than compressor dehumidifiers because, as the name would suggest, they don’t have a compressor. Air is drawn through a rotating wheel of desiccant material that absorbs any excess moisture. This excess moisture then goes through a condenser to turn it into water which is collected in the water tank or drained through the hose.
